Money comes to those who “call” it

“Christian, this stuff can’t talk, but it has ears”.

I must have looked utterly perplexed because at the time the idea seemed preposterous.

I’d have instantly dismissed it if the words hadn’t came from the mouth of one of the wisest and most successful mentors in my life.

In his hand he held a wad of dollar bills.

He didn’t mean money literally had “ears”  of course, he was speaking from a level of understanding I’d yet to grasp.

The point he was making to his “oh-so-slow-on-the-uptake” student was… money, like everything else, is energy.  And the same laws apply to this form of energy as any other.

His point was energy attracts like energy.

This guy was worth listening to.  When what he was sharing with me was first shared with him, he was broke.  He earned $4000 a year and owed $6000.  Like me, he too struggled with the notion of money having “ears”, but as he’d got to the stage of (in his words) “utter desperation”, he was willing to entertain any idea to take the heat off.

A year later he was earning $250,000.  The year after that it was a million.  Given this was back in the sixties, it’s no small beer.

The point is, money is literally repelled or attracted into our lives.

To the ears of the average person (and by “average” I don’t mean the person is average, no individual is “average” or unworthy, although most people think and act as if they are), this idea of “pushing money away” or “drawing it to you” seems ludicrous.

Just like it did to me.  Initially.  Just like it did to my mentor.  Initially.

But I’ve since observed both sides of the coin play out in my life and the lives of others.

I’ve got close family who repel money like water repels oil.  Their consciousness pushes the stuff away.  When they first visited my home, the first question they asked, in a certain derogatory tone, was “how much does this cost?”

When I told them their instant reaction was a “tut” and a sharp intake of breath.  I love these people dearly, yet I pity them.  They have no awareness of the cause and effect relationship between their inner world, their psychology, and their outer world, their results.

You cannot escape a prison unless you know you’re in one.

Ignorance is the prison.

Consider this: would you be compelled to spend time with people who continually thought and spoke about you in a negative way?  Imagine someone “tutting” in abhorrence at the sound of your name, would you spend time in their company?

I think not.

Well, as bizarre as it might sound, money is no different.

Earlier I made quick reference to how oil and water repel.  They’re both energy in a corporeal or physical state of vibration and yet they repel.  Why?  At a molecular level, oil and water are not in harmonious vibration with each other.

Put water and water together, what do you get?  One mass of water.  Why? The vibratory rate of the energy is the same.

Poverty consciousness is to money what oil is to water.  And there’s a lot of poverty consciousness going about.  Most of us are marinated in it from birth.  I know I was.

Which is why success of any significance comes more from unlearning deep-seated ideas and habitual ways of thinking inherited from our environment, than it does from learning new information.

Take how to profitably market a small business for example.  It’s completely counter-intuitive to how 99% of business owners think it should be done and it shows in their results.

It showed in mine, until I was willing to unlearn and let go of what I knew to relearn from those who demonstrated, by results, they knew what they were talking about.

Money comes to those who “call” it.

As Napoleon Hill pointed out in “Think & Grow Rich”, “When riches begin to come they come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one wonders where they have been hiding during all those lean years.”
