The Buddha allegedly said “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”.I was prompted into this way of thinking again when I was interviewed, on video, by the Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES), headed up by an extraordinary young lady called Carly Ward.
The work she is doing is inspiring.
She’s introduced a curriculum of advanced thinking strategies, from recognised subject matter experts, to 17 colleges across the UK. And she meets with significant resistance from many in the educational establishment who refuse to entertain anything outside of the out dated, IQ-led curriculum and see Carly’s work as a very real threat.
Like it or not, the current education system fails young people and the economy miserably. It equips the next generation beautifully for success in the world of academia…
…and woefully for success in the world outside of it.
Young people don’t lack talent. They lack awareness.
Carly challenges that paradigm. After 4 years of hard slog to crack the institutions, she started to get traction. And it helps when a bit of celebrity comes in.
The 2013 finalist of the UK’s “The Apprentice”, Luisa Zissman, studied the YES curriculum, so at some juncture, albeit indirectly, I was able to contribute to another young person achieving extraordinary things.
So what was I interviewed about?
In short, natural laws, unwavering principles of life – such as Cause and Effect and the Laws of Polarity, Gender, Relativity and Vibration – the expression of which is either working for you or not – depending on your understanding of them.
Carly has watched me teach on these topics in the self-improvement movie “Beyond the Secret”. During my time with Carly, I spoke into all aspects of what it takes to be a highly successful entrepreneur, with a particular focus on how our beliefs not only sponsor the quality of our thinking but also our behaviours.
I was only too happy to help Carly out. I don’t currently have as much time at my disposal to pour into the lives of young people as I’d like to have, so the interview gave me the perfect platform to reach more people than I could any other way.
As I reflected on how different my life could have been if I’d been exposed to advanced thinking strategies at 16, I realised I’d have probably rejected them anyway.
When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I wasn’t ready to hear the message back then. In fact, I wasn’t ready to listen until my mid-twenties.
Mind you, a lot of people remain stone deaf to it all of their lives.
Wealth is a choice.
Choice is a function of awareness.
And awareness is a product of a disciplined approach to self-improvement.
Those who are working through my “4 Pillars of Mastery” and the Success Implementation Guide packed with the all-important coaching questions, are not typical business owners. They’re not part of the herd. They’re actively participating in life-changing activities. They’re growing.
If you’re not growing, you’re going backwards. There is no such thing as inertia in nature – you’re either growing, or you’re not. Stagnation is a fallacy. No “in-between state” exists. It’s a lawful process (the Law of Polarity) and there’s no escape from the assertion of natural law.
What are you choosing in your life? Are you choosing to grow when many choose not to? What do your results tell you? Because they can’t lie.
